VMN Option Upper control arm to suit Toyota Hilux Vigo/N70/KUN26 and Revo/N80/GGUN, Fortuner, Prado 120
Perfect to correct wheel alignment for 2-3" of lift
We've been searching worldwide for a good, dependable Upper Control arm with a sealed ball joint that is actually designed for lifted trucks. We've finally found one. Not only does it look the goods, it does the job. This is not a Chinese product of dubious quality but designed from the ground up to suit the Toyta Hilux N70/Vigo and N80/Revo lifted to 50-75mm.
The new VMN Option Upper Control Arm features a high lift design that corrects camber and caster, powdercoated arm, pressed in bushes for minimal maintenance, brake line mounts and a high quality ball joint designed to do the job we ask of it. The arms are areassembled using CNC robot arm welders to ensure consistent weld quality and penetration for maximum strength. We even include a cool anodised aluminium dust cap for that added bling!
We've test fitted these to a 2018 Hilux (N80/Revo/GGUN) and found we were able to clear 33" (285/70 R17) tyres on a standard factory SR spec rim with a +30mm offset and clear the body mount. This is becasue of the added room the design makes between the tyre and upper control arm. By keeping the factory offset, there is no requirement for flares as the tyre sits legally inside the guard where its supposed to. Minor trimming might be required. We were really surprised they fitted on a standard +30mm rim and this is testament to the careful design behind the product.
We have never been a fan of the UCA's with the adjustable style ball joint. We've also found over the years that the non- adjustable style like this one allows the ball joint to be placed closer to the outside perimeter of the UCA to maximise clearance.
We've tried many alternatives over the years both adjustable and non-adjustable designs as well as exposed uniball ones. We found the Uniballs are totally unsuited for the harsh Australian conditions and have a very short service life. We have also used a number of arms with an adjustable position upper ball joint and found they suffer from two problems: They have a short service life; and the upper securing bolt can come undone. Then you loose your wheel alignment so you faces the added expense and inconvenience of getting it realigned.
There are other nonadjustable Upper control arms but don't be tempted. This is a vastly superior designed and built product.
Here is our earlier take on this product before we had fitted them.
