Greasable shackle pins ar used to mount the front eye of the leaf spring and provide a way to lubricate the front suspension bush.
Some say fitting these are a waste of time and like to retain the factory non greasable pins as they believe that you can't get grease into the inside of the suspenion bush where its needed. Others maintain it is an inexpensive part so its worth fitting as any grease is better than no grease at all.
On some vehicles the OEM part has to be cut off or the fuel tank removed to remove the pin. In such cases, this becomes a required part.
